The Mongrel Dog Oceano accounted for a second grander Blue Marlin for Captain Simon Bracey. This time a 1222lb monster, also landed in 2012.
NB: Tackle rating explained – beside each lure you will see a suggested tackle rating – light, medium and heavy. That is our recommendation as to the type of tackle that lure is most suited to.
Light tackle is line tested up to and including 15kg (30lb). Medium tackle is in the 15kg to 24kg (50lb) test range. Heavy tackle is in the 37kg (80lb) to 60kg (130lb) range.

This is a great choice when targeting truly big blue marlin. Originally designed to be run at slow speeds, this lure has had a few small modifications from the original and now it has proved to the secret weapon to everyday fishing success. chocolate thunder (heavy)
This is a teaser that is definitely stealing everyone’s thunder. We named this lure after Dave Chambers a well-known North Carolina deckhand. This teaser is a beast weighting around 4lbs or 1.8kg. During one of its first outings in the Atlantic the Chocolate Thunder was responsible for a tournament win and we think it will raise some crazy big fish in the Pacific too.
